Wolseley UK take their environmental responsibilities very seriously with a dedicated Environmental Team working full time with the business to reduce the Wolseley carbon footprint. Tackling and improving the environmental impact of the company’s activities is at the heart of the Wolseley Corporate Responsibility Policy.They also help work with customers to advise on reducing carbon footprints.
Wolseley can not only point to the ISO 14001 accreditation but can demonstrate some of the current environmental initiatives underway – Corporate Responsibility Report, 2008.
Wolseley UK has held multi-site Chain of Custody certification for our Build Center
brand since January 2004. 85% of our timber is from a certified sustainable source and all Build & Timber Center branches (230+) have Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) & Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification PEFC Chain of Custody. The scheme has seen a continuous increase to over 200 branches that have been awarded certification. These branches are now
able to offer a choice of over 3000 stocked products with FSC or PEFC (including CSA and SFI) endorsement.
