Wolseley Materials Supply to Miller Construction
As a member of Miller Construction’s supply chain Wolseley UK has collaborated with the group from an early stage on the first phase of its Building Schools for the Future (BSF) projects in Leicester.
Miller has formed a partnership with Leicester City Council and heads a consortium, Leicester Miller Education Company (LMEC), which will transform Leicester’s secondary school estate over the coming years.
Sixteen schools are anticipated to be involved in the programme, over a number of phases.
Phase 1 consists of four schools: Beaumont Leys, Judgemeadow, Soar Valley and Fullhurst.

Miller Construction has developed a lean supply chain in order to create efficiencies and leverage cost savings across the projects on behalf of the client.
For instance, Wolseley UK’s DRYAD architectural ironmongery has been specified across all four Phase 1 schools. Such standardisation has allowed the group to leverage aggregate spend and reduce on-going maintenance costs.
Wolseley UK’s businesses have also been working closely with Miller’s specialist subcontractors across the projects with Build Center, Drain Center, Pipe Center and Encon involved to date.
Wolseley’s supply chain and business model allows close partnership working with the client and project stakeholders. Working in partnership early on with the supply chain means that we can add value early to help reduce costs later in the project.
